The Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) was established by the International Council of Scientific Unions (ICSU) in 1958 to promote international cooperation in scientific research in space. For over six decades, COSPAR has served as a key platform for scientists worldwide to exchange knowledge, coordinate research activities, and address the scientific challenges of space exploration.

The COSPAR Symposium series is one of the organization’s flagship events, designed to provide an intimate and focused forum for in-depth discussion on specific frontier topics in space research. Unlike the larger COSPAR Scientific Assemblies, these symposia foster closer interaction among participants and facilitate the development of new collaborative initiatives.
